Alright sooo... Its been forever, but after the move, i'm restarting my fisherings. Up now is the Fluval Edge 6g Nano fish tank. Information is as follows:

Stocked:

*Note* There are two wild bettas (calm community type) housed in tank, not whiteseam bettas, however they are not on AqAdvisor, therefore the stocking level is lower that 90% in reality

Planted:
1 Marimo ball (Japanese Moss Ball)
1 Java Fern
~ Plastic Plants (will slowly be replaced)
Shrimp Dirt Substrate (for live plants, shrimp, and Kuhli)

Very nice. :) are those tanks worth the price? I want to do it as a shrimp tank... Would it work?
I absolutely love these tanks, and it would work great as a shrimp tank. However, there are some things to think about with them, they can only have low to moderate light live plants, and moving objects or decorations around in the tank can be a bit tricky do to the opening size. Shrimp are always a hassle so i'm not going to bother explaining that, that happens with any tank.

I love the way the tank looks and fits in with my lifestyle and house, so I thought it was worth the cost (plus it was on a little sale), I also do like the Fluval EBI (a tank / environment they made solely for shrimp) and the chi... I will eventually be getting all of them. My Edge uses the Ebi substrate as well (makes it nicer for the shrimp and the kuhli loaches).

Both the Edge and the EBI would be great picks for you for a shrimp tank, the chi maybe not do to an open top (no lid available)...

Let me know if you decide to get either ~

Nice! What kind of betta?
As far as I can guess they are Betta pictas... though like I said its a guess. When I bought them they simply said Wild Bettas as a name, but suggested they can be housed in anywhere from 2.5g-20g L tanks.

Mine personally have gray-brown bodies, with specs of blue, and very short fins (as a female splend. would)

I kept/sold red cherry shrimp in a 10 gallon tank with no lid for years (there was a light suspended over it to light the plants in their tank). I don't think there would be problems with the Chi.

Would it be possible that you might have Betta imbellis? They are peaceful and can live in groups, only a pair can be housed in a 10g for their whole life, as they tend to seek each other's company. Here's a comparison, let's see how they match up. Please note that these are both in their wild forms. Both Betta species has color variations in the pictures I found.

I thought imbellis could be a possibility which still could be correct, though I'm leaning towards picta still. I am checking the tank every so often looking for slight color changes or something i missed that could help to identify which it is. However the ones I have are very peaceful, although quite shy.
