What would be the best way to keep a tank cycled with no fish in it. my QT tank is empty at this time, but I will be needing it again in the near future.

If its not cycled I like to drop in a piece or two of peeled shrimp and then just wait, no water changes required until the cycle is done!! Then to keep it maintained just add a couple pinches of food every few days or so to keep the nitrates up to about 5-10PPM.
Edit: oops I was typing when fuzz was, we are both on the same track.

Invisible fish lol, you will still have to do small water changes to keep ammonia from spiking
Hello; In an empty QT would an ammonia spike be a problem? Without fish to be affected, it would seem to me fhat the ammonia would do no harm and eventually lead to the growth of bb . The bb could perhaps be kept alive with the addition of small amounts of fish food or shrimp as suggested??
