I have heard of using yeast for something in tanks. Do you feed the fish with it? Or what?

I believe the yeast culture itself dies if it gets submerged in water/liquid. Maybe then is just messes with your tank water chemistry? Dunno for sure.

Happened to me once. It was the yeast/sugar/baking soda mixture I made. Didn't wait to find out too much more about what happens if you leave it - I did a 75% water change, double-dosed with Prime, then did daily 50% water changes after that, 'cause my cycle went kablooey. Lost a couple fish.
