Hello. My giant danios are acting funny and im not sure why. They've always had normal behavior but all of a sudden they've went to the bottom of the tank and stayed there. I have no idea why but I know they're top dwellers and they're just swimming along the rocks at the very bottom of the tank and that's that. They won't even go mid level. Im not sure what caused this or why it started but they haven't left the bottom of the tank in awhile. Why are they acting like this and I know its not normal for them. What are your opinions on this behavior. Thank you ahead of time :) !!!

What size tank? What are your water parameter measurements (in PPM) for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

I've got 4 zebra danios that are pretty much weird all the time. They're happy at any layer of the tank.

They are still at the bottom btw and they've always stayed at the top before even without any floating plants. Ill get a surface plant and see if that fixes things

Took a water sample to petsmart and they said everything was fine.
What is 'fine' to one person is not 'fine' to another. There are no test results that say 'fine.' What are the actual readings of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? What sized tank is this, what temperature is it kept at, and how long has it been set up?

Sudden changes in fish behavior means something is wrong. Just guessing without more information, but I'd say there is a water quality issue.

She mentioned it could be I need more foliage floating on the top?
I wonder if she sells floating foliage? Hmmm...
