If you haven't much experience with tricky fish give the Dicrossus a miss - they're very small, very pretty and very, very fussy and sensitive to water quality. They are similar to the harder to keep blackwater apistos, requiring pH adjusted supersoft water and the ones I've seen have always been incredibly small <1 inch, meaning they're going to be in bad shape and mostly half starved at the lfs.
