Oh snap, I keep forgetting about updating this. I added some blyxa (which the snails so kindly keep uprooting) in the back. I'll take a picture tonight, assuming I can find the rest of my rechargeable batteries for the cam.

I was going to stick with the microsword, but I figured it would grow tall enough to cover up part of the dw that's laying horizontally. I'm kinda liking the way the riccia is growing in also.

I may have to thin out my ferns, it's pretty crowded and new plantlets keep emerging. A friend of mine has had his pleco eat and uproot almost all of his plants, so I told him I'd let him try some of these.

what a beautiful tank..I love your layout...stunning
are you using any co2 injection or diy co2?
Thanks! :D I'm using CO2 injection, with a paintball canister.

I know I said I would get off early to take pictures, but I got distracted at work and ended up staying late, lol. I'm letting some of the floating riccia settle down before I take a pic. I should hopefully have one within the hour.

The obligatory full-tank-shot. :D I'm going to have to thin out the java ferns. I think I'm going to just keep the needle-leafs in here and remove the regulars. I'm not feeling that blyxa though. I think i'll give it a while though.

CO2 mist!!!!

A shrimp.

The riccia is growing in so well! :D

Amano on blyxa!

Happy now, Ishar?! :D

I'm getting a big case of green spot/dust algae, so I'm going to add in some duckweed to help with fert control.

I've heard neons still eat shrimplets, I wanted to add a school of microrasbora, but I probably won't do so till next year - I've got some field gear I've got to buy first for a trip I'm taking in January.

I'll send you some java ferns in a couple of weeks. I'm going to give some to a friend of mine and send some to brian during this first thinning, but I've got quite a bit of adventitous ferns popping up, so within a couple of weeks they should be good enough to pluck.

It's been several days since I've actually seen this tank with the lights on. They're on from 10am to 10pm... and I leave for work before 8, and don't get home till close to, if not after midnight. :(

I can see the adventitous ferns closer to the front of the class have grown a bit though.

I wonder if I can finally pull out that eye-sore of a rock that's weighing down the piece of DW?

The DW is finally waterlogged! :D

I decided I wasn't feeling the ferns though. I pulled them all out. The regulars I split up between 3 people. The needle leafs I kept in the 29 gallon.

If you've already read my 29g journal, the sunset hygro that was being munched on by the snails I moved in here, where the java fern used to be. It wasn't in great shape, but seems to be recovering well and quickly. I also got rid of about 1/4, maybe 1/3 of my riccia mat in the front, it wasn't getting enough light and there was barely any growth on it. My blyxa was doing great though! I thinned it out, and the extra stems I put into my 100g.

I'm essentially keeping the same idea for this tank as before, rather than the ferns though, I'll have a bushy sunset hygro area with the dw sticking out through it.

Pictures tonight, I hope.

Things didn't work out quite so well... I was trying to trim my riccia today, and it all just decided to float to the top, the whole thing! So I said goodbye to the riccia foreground.

I have some hygro polysperma (green) in here, in lieu of the sunset hygro. There's also a small crypt that hitched a ride with the riccia when I first got it. I need to figure out a new foreground for this one. I'm going to take my time with this though, and focus all my energy on the 100g.
