i got a nano PC light w/ the hood

so i'll might as well make a small nano cube.

im thinking about really thick walls of acrylic.

and since the hood is only 9" across its best if i make my tank length about the same size.

its only a idea right now.

wats the best way to reinforce it?

i dont want wake up and fine saltwater everywhere.

i was looking at some silicons at osh today but im buying them at homedepot if its cheaper along with a mirror background. (might have to glue that to a thick piece of glass if its not thick enough)

also the top part of this tank will probably be the most complicated...cuz i want to make a slot of the hood

SALTY WATERS said:
If you are using Acrylic you should use acrylic glue (forget the exact name)
If you are using glass then go with Aquarium safe sylicon.

Go to Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation Home Page and scroll to the DIY section on the left side. It will give you all the info and exact cut lengths for your tank.

thanks for the site.

i was thinking about glass (cheaper/easier to cut)
but acrylic is easier to drill and its stronger (plexiglass suxs big time)

if i can i'll drop by homedepot and pick up a 30X36 acrylic piece. (enough to make 2 small tanks)

the only thing holding me back form getting it is i dont know wat kind of glue to use for it. iv been using weld-it but not sure if its 100% safe. and homedepot doesnt have weld-on glue.

ok i got some weld-on #16s

going to make a acrylic tank.

the glue delivery will take about 4 days so im going to cut/drill my acrylic piece slowly :D

i have like the ultimate build-in sump/tank design plan in my head.

btw anyone know how much psi can weld-on #16 hold?

i got the light for the tank now. its really small but i wasnt expecting much. the side cracked...it wasnt because of shipping cuz it was packaged so nicely :p

a little glue should solve that problem.

theres a slot of the glass to slide in but it didnt come with it...so guess i have to spend like $2 to get one...

anyways the bulb was great 50/50 10k (the bulb says 6.5k...) and acrtic blue 03

looks great looks better then my 20k =/...well thats PC for u
