You mean all this time with all your problems you have had a "spare tank" just lying around?? Do your math: L X W X H (in inches) and divide by 231(cubic inches per gallon) and you should have a pretty good idea of the size of your tank. And I agree: Craigs list has some extremely good deals - take a look in your area.

How much smaller than 5 gallons?? You are pretty vague - you should be able to come up with an exact number of either cubic inches or gallons.

Im gonna take a good guess and say its either 2.5 or 3 gallons. Its in our building and hasnt been used in ahwile, ive kept a male betta in there before.

I guess we will all have to wait until you measure it, do the math and then maybe someone will advise you as to the best way to split up your gouramis and beta.

Two gouramis in a 5g are not okay. They need to be in the 10g. A betta in a 2.5-3g is sorta okay, but still won't solve the problem of the two gouramis in the 5g.

its an 8X8X8 so its 2.2 gallons

A single dwarf puffer should not be kept in anything smaller than a 5 gallon. Dwarf puffers are very wasteful and require space and frequent water changes. About 50% a week since they are such messy eaters.

That tank isn't really suitable for any of your fish or any future fish. You really should get rid of your acei cichild until you can get a way larger tank (40+ gals). Then you can move your gouramis into your 10 gallon. I wouldn't get anymore fish until you have your current situation under control.

one of my friend's has a large tank with an african cichlid in it but i ahve no idea what it is, its a Bright orange color

I don't know enough about cichlids to suggest if that would be suitable transfer environment.

Why are you concerned?
If you are concerned than I would return your cichlid to where ever you got him from.

I just found a 55 gallon stand aquarium on Craigs list, im gonna email the person and see if i can get it.

I just mailed the person, says it comes with Filtration, gravels, background, iso tank etc. the whole tank, now i just have to cry to mama, save my money for like 4-5 more weeks and it'l be mine. Im so glad i found this

Well maybe your mom can give you a "loan" so that you can buy the tank sooner than later. I don't know how long most people selling there tanks will hold them for, especially if they are getting other offers. Plus your fish would probably thank you for a bigger tank sooner than later because you still have to cycle it.
