Thanks for the vid FishDad!
Will leave it be then if the tank is not leaking, I think.

Oh, thoughts on the congo tetras male to female ratio? Could I do all males?

We have picked up a tank.

If the volume calculator I used is correct, which it is one I trust..the tank is ~130g. The dimensions are 72"x18"x23"

Do ya'll think it'd be safe to add another bichir or two, and up the schooling numbers? I'd also like to add a spiny eel if possible but am not sure how it'd do with the bichirs.

I am also wondering if I can do the Penn Plax Cascade 1500 for now, and as they grow add on another one or a better one?

Thank you again :)

Nice size - that is what I would love. That is a standard 125, BTW.

I think, with the fish you are planning being more on the "low flow" side, you should be fine to have the one filter now and add or upgrade later. As long as you are mindful as they grow as to when you may need to increase the filtration.

Edit: looked it up and apparently there is a 135g that is 24" high, and the standard 125g is 22". Probably still the 125g as they are more common/standard.

The calculator showed it as a 129g but def fine to say 125g since those are the outside dimensions and then the substrate and everything else..will be less than 125g ><

I'm glad you think it'll be fine to do 1 filter for now, and I will def be keeping an eye on their growth and whatnot. The bichirs will also be added later so that will help decrease bioload for a little while.

We ordered a SunSun HW 304B, which is THIS one. I know someone who has the exact one and she said she uses noodles, MATRIX, and bioballs for the media. She mentioned this allows for better flow. Thoughts?

Get an endli! One of my favorite bichir species.

Also to address your pleco question, I would look into a carnivorous species of pleco such as a sultan, scarlet, sunshine, or leopard cactus pleco. Your bichers will require meaty foods in there diets so adding a carnivorous pleco will fit right in with your stocking.

Think that'd be a bit too big for this tank..plus aren't lower jaws more aggressive? Or no?

I don't want a pleco though :c Don't want to put the bichirs in danger and all these fish produce enough mess without adding a plec haha.
Thank you very much for the suggestions though, I am always thinking of future tanks so even if it doesn't work with this one I can use suggestions for something else in the future! :D

Woops, it's been a while. I've made another topic for this since as you know I got a bigger size than 75g and now know what the stocking and whatnot will be. Thanks for all the help so far!

I wasn't sure where to put the topic so hopefully I put it in an okay spot, HERE is the link for it if ya'll want to see how this is going :)
