um....lets see, at the place that I go to, you can get a tank for roughly a dollar to 2 dollars a gallon, usually a dollar, and if you get an iron stand, it would be roughly 75 dollars, so that would be something like 150 to 250 dollars for just the tank and stand, that is where I get stuff. But if you go to a store with a huge markup, you will easily drop 500 to 1000 dollars on the basics.

How much is a 20 gal. new with a hood?
I have a 10 gal with an Oscar, parrot , and Midas
I will get the 80 in Dec. but I can probably get a 20 pretty soon
Everything in my 10 is for a 20 (Heater and filter)
I just need the tank

I got a 75 gallon stand off ebay for 65$
a 55 gallon for 60$

I'm guessing you should be able to get an 80 for 60-120$ depending on how much of a rush your in.

Building a stand shouldn't run you more than 40$ and if you can't do it I'm sure you know somebody you could pay to build it for double the price....

if you spend more than 200$ you need to have your head checked...

You guys in america are lucky you should see the prices in my Lfs. This tank was about 20-25 gallon tall tank the tank alone cost 750 pounds which is about 900$. I was like .

If you are going for a 20g tank, if you want a new one, that is 20 dollars, and that you may not even need a stand if you find a strong enough peice of furniture to leave it on.

um...not really, it was without a hood, but you could easily go your local hardware store, take five minutes looking around, and easily have a very high wattaged hood, for under 20 dollars.

a 10 gallon with a oscar midas and blood parret? before you get a new tank fix that setup! those fish are going to die! with just those three fish i recommend a 100 gallon tank.


i got a 65 gallon with stand for $150.

Asking how much is a bad question, you really need to do your own homework, as no one can really know what it is you really want, Especially since 80 gal is an odd ball size and you probabley wont come across to many that are not a custom made tank.

instead of an 80 gallon, which will be hard to get, i would go for a 120 gallon, or a 65 gallon. both are close to 80 gallons, and are common sizes.

I just got a hood and it was 55.00 canadian plus taxes. This was for a 20 gallon. The aquariams are about 30.00 without the hood..

brobro is right! those fish will not be able to live in that tank for very long! the oscar and midas will get huge! you should try and upgrade to the 80 gal before dec.!
