Well...I did it...ordered metal halides over the weekend. They arrive Thursday. Got a 2x250w Sunpod setup. Should let me start playing with SPS. For now, I need to take some more shots of the tank before the new lights show up.

Nah...it is my standard 90g. I am excited to get the MHs, but don't count on a bunch of new coral afterward...the bank account is severely diminished by said purchase.

Now that you mention it C-Man...anyone in the SF Bay Area want to buy a 90g tall?

Wow TRe...that is actually a huge compliment...I thank you for that.

I will try to get a fresh shot of the 90g up soon...you will notice that while it is in darn good shape (if I do say so myself) with lots of coraline, no nuisance algae, etc. it is really limited in coral. I just never really added anything new to it as I kept telling myself I would get the lights. Then I did.

I took a trip down to the LFS and they had a sale for memorial day going on so I picked up three frags. Everything is tank raised. Full tank shot hopefully to follow tomorrow.

Pocillipora damicornis:

Seriatopora hystrix

plating Montipora (bad picture):

very nice frags and IMO the birdsnest and poccillarpora (especially the poccillapora) are some of the most hardy and easy to keep sps.... green birdsnest and monti caps are pretty easy too ;) good luck with yur new venture into sps!
