Well, thats fine. He really does not like something about that filter. Like I said, it is probably a reflection on the filter area. Try turning his tank light off and see if that stops it.

What is his name?

it was my nieces betta, but she didnt want it anymore...so i said what the heck i will take it.......wow i didnt know i would be investing so much in it LOL......she named is LOUIE. LOL

ps.... now he is letting himself get sucked around the filter then he takes off. damn i hope this aint hurting the poor fella

Bettas are not strong swimmers, they do not like strong current. If you can, set your filter system to the slowest (minimum level) Louie will appreciate that.

In time, he will learn to avoid that spot, but slow down the flow just to be sure, you can use cotton or something in the whole to slow it down a little.

Did you try the tank light - did he stop flaring?

You laugh, 3 weeks ago I had 1 male. Now I have 5 bettas and 4 tanks!

Its worth it, bettas are great fish once you get the basics down. I plan on breeding them, once they get healthy and I am setup to handle the 300+ baby fry !!!
