Definitely not nothobranchius (man who runs lfs has a bunch, why not more popular?), but cynolebias maybe.... but the pelvic and pectoral fins all wrong.
I've never seen a badis with stripes like that so I'm sticking to paradise fish or similar
All right, I got a couple more pictures, I have more but I just haven't posted them in there. These were quite close up and it shows what they look like most of the time. It's in the 10g section. Let's see...
I just flipped through my TF Atlas, and to me, that fish looks almost identical to the Pseudotropheus lambardoi, or Zebra Cichlid. The pictures you have show the fish with clamped fins so identifying is difficult. Hope this helps.
Well what I don't understand is why your LFS didn't have the fish labeled and how they come across a price for them without knowing. By the way how much did you pay for them? Very nice fish though.
They were $2.99 a piece - I know the owner of the store so he caught me a deal, but there's a picture in there with the fins stretched out on display... Badis is what I'm thinking right now.
LOL Paul... Yeah they are pretty nifty. They're fun to watch eat because half the food you give them (bloodwordms, freeze dried tubifex for example) is about as big as them - then they tear it apart! Really neat fish to have.
