Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been doing some research on breeding bettas as well and you only need to jar the males. Which would be, say half of your fry, and some of them probably aren't going to make it anyways. So you might need 200 jars but I don't think you would ever need 500 for one spawn? I know they can lay up to 500 eggs, but do all of them really hatch and make it????????? The females can all live together in a community tank, unless they are extremely aggressive towards one another.
