I called into my local store yesterday to pick up food for the fish and my rabbits.

Had a nosey around the tanks and seen these small 1.5-2inch black juvenile cichlids.

The tanks are labelled weird in here. They will have stickers on the tanks with name and prices etc but the fish might bd in a tank next too it.

The only thing they had listed was jack dempseys and firemouths along with the bolivians and gbrs but its neither of these.

Could these be either of them? Lovely little dudes and had the typical bar markings on their sides.

I didnt notice any other colour on them as I was just in and out very quick.

I should have asked while I was in what they where.

Thanks.

need more info were they all the same in colour? if so not dempsys.. be careful bar markings may be the give away. they may be convicts they breed like rabbits (slang) but 500 at a time and you will be giving them away they will tale over your tank and actually bite your finger.. i use to have 2 breeders and used the fry for feeder fish..

Turns out they are firemouths.

Had a closer look and have some other markings etc.

Theyve been getting some excellent stock in lately.

Had some bolivians and gbrs at 4quid a peice and even a little piranha in a tank to himself.
