Just came back to edit my post and Leopardess you must have posted nearly the same time I did lol

I was GOING to say, THANK you Leopardess for explaining it for me, and I appreciate what you said.

I guess we found the one thing that upsets Froggy.

Sure...if anyone has anything to reccomend as far as a good way to change from my UGF to the HOB filter I got for it, so I don't have to cycle the tank all over again.

Its a 10 Gallon tank (see signature) and I currently have both filters running full power.

From doing some extra research since I first posted this thread I did read that its usually not a good idea to keep both filters running as a permanent thing because the two different kind of filtration end up working against each other, so keeping them both indefinitely isn't what I want to do.

My current thought is to let them both run for about 3 weeks, then turn down the air flow on the ugf, so that there is still SOME flow left and hopefully that will keep the nasties underneath the UGF plate from taking hold. Then after the flow is turned down for a few days and I don't have any sign of an ammonia/nitrite spike, I will REMOVE my fish from the tank, take the UGF out and clean the tank, let it settle and then return the fish to their new improved home.
