Yes, it is normal for extrememly long trails of poop. Sometimes that is the only way I can find my common plec when he is hiding. :) Like I said, whatever color food they, like everything else, is eating that is the color their poop is going to be. Alarming at times I know.
as far as I've heard the only color of poop that is cause for concern is white, my concern was not the color but the amount of it, I am glad to hear that it is normal, thank you

I'm sorry for your loss JJ... Have you tried any fresh vegetables? I'm not quite sure if Oscars will try and eat those or not, such as: Zucchini/courgette, cucumber, deshelled peas, Lettuce, etc... there are various ways to weigh them down my favorite being a rock and rubber band. Others ways are a Screwcumber (http://www.screwcumber.com), a stainless steel fork/spoon and a veggie clip with a suction cap, usually can get the last one at a lfs.

wow..must have been hard loosing him...were you close?
just be strong...i personally think we shouldnt see death as such a bad thing, but he was very young.
he lives two hours away and I actually only met him once, so no, we weren't really close, but I am devastated none the less. I thought I was ok until I went in for my renewal on my cpr/first aid training yesterday and saw the dummies and fell to pieces. the 911 op had my sis doing cpr till they got there and all I could picture was him, I had to reschedule for the next class. In his case it really wasn't such a bad thing, he did not have the greatest parents and was born with drugs in his system and very neglected, so he is definately better off, but that doesn't make it any less heartbreaking. Anyhow, sorry to ramble on and on thanks for reading and all your help with not only this, but my fishies too!*thumbsups
