is this a rose bta? if so it is bleached and needs a steady feeding to help it regain it's zoantelle....either way I would feed it about a 1/2 of a silverside every other day until it gains it's color back. Mysis is good but it is a lot of work for a small amount of protein, silversides are easily taken and have a lot of nutrition for their size

No, it's just a regular BTA. It has a geenish/pinkish color to it when I got it. I have a sea squirt that I can use to feed it mysis until I get to the LFS to get some silversides.

Lorna, what do you keep your ALK level at?

My alk is my problem area.......I have trouble keeping it up. I aim for 4 meq/l but usually it is somewhere around 3.5. I am needing to get a new test kit so will try to find a salifert one...... I buffer with Kent's super buffer and dose Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium at 2tsp/g in my auto topoff and it keeps my ca at about 420 and my ph is constant at 8.3-8.4 now if I could just find a way to keep my alk right.

Alk is my issue too. I just got my cal back to the right level now I need to get my alk to do the same.

ca and alk do a dance....one up, one down.....find a happy balance that is the tough part
