You won't need ammo carb after your tank is properly cycled. Those beneficial bacteria grow according to the amount of ammonia present in the tank. When you add fish (slowly) the bacteria will increase to the necessary level. I would keep the ammo carb handy for emergencies if you suddenly have a large spike in your ammonia, you can control it until you figure out the cause. Good luck

Exactley as TMony wrote.

When a fish produces waste it includes/ breaks down and becomes ammonia, this feeds the bacteria, after the tank is cycled you should see zero ammonia unless the tapwater has ammonia in it.
