There I was - doing the usual tank cleaning and putting the plants back where they came from......needed a rock to stop one getting dug back out, remembered there was a rock buried in the sand in the 55 bow.

I knew it was going to be tricky getting it out ...... since the Parrot and the Oscar have been nesting in there, they can be a bit “tetchy”. You’re alright as long as you don’t touch anything - but I needed that rock - and the net wasn’t going to get it.

So - I’m in up to my armpit - along comes the Parrot - sure enough - BANG - right on my knuckle. The Oscar of course doesn’t like to be left out of things, so he takes a pop too. Meanwhile Mrs purple is rolling around laughing at this .... Grrr.

Given that after that little lot there was blood on my hand, it probably wasn’t a very good idea to then clean out the Texas tank..........but hey - how tough can a fish be huh.

Do Cichlids have teeth ?........... count ‘em - http://www.freewebs.com/purples/ouch.JPG

LOL! That's hilarious trout!

Some cichlids can bite hard! I wouldn't think that a BP or an oscar would do much damage, but now I know! I do know for a fact that the pseudocanines on the Jaguar cichlids hurt!

That'll learn ya purp! And shave those feet! ;)
