dwarf frogs

is there anyone out there who can tell me how it is to own african dwarf frogs? i would like to know before i go out and buy some. thanks. :-/

i got 3 of them they get along with everything and they eat the food i give my fish (i don't think there supposed to) thats all i Know

Hi Kitten, You will probably find the main reason you can not find any is because of the strict import regulations in your country.
These are in place to try to help your natural environment,just think about the Koi carp that are damaging the australian eco-system,you shoot them as a pest, if they were here in the UK they would be worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars. 8)

Yeah...we also have a problem with cane taods in the north..the shoot them too. (some people kill them for a living!)

Why would the carp be worth so much? It tastes bad and they're ugly as h*ll

we don't shoot them. thats silly.
you catch them by the truck load and it's law to kill them.

We recently had a documentary on UK television showing boat loads of hunters shooting them using rifles.
I thought this was the norm,just goes to show that you should not beleive everything you see on TV. 8)

Carp are very slow, and your allowed to kill them...so i guess guys just like to shoot things!

I have 2 frogs in my guppy tank.  They dont bother anything...except the fry!  Oopss!  I feed mine shrimp pellets.  They really like them!

I buy those funny looking albino dwarf frogs here in NJ for about 1$ each. I get them 6 at a time and they last about a week until my rope fish dines on them. They are a joy to watch, they are so goofy looking and they can't swim for anything

i currtenly own 10 of these over my year having these only thing i recomend is a very very very good hood almost every one i had died because jumping out thats before i got some fiberglass and duct tape
its very hard to keep them not to jump out dont go with a store hood there worthless while keeping these and i would make one if i was you but im not so if you want ot waste your money go ahead but i have over 5 years experence with them email me at bf1541@yahoo.com or talk to me on aim insanebeaver8888@aol.com or what ever but i know alot about these things

My dwarf african frog just kind of hangs out at the bottom of the tank that is shares with my beta. Is that normal? I feed him and I hope that he is eating.

well i would chek about him eating just watch him for about 10 minutes if nothing happends then i would feed him at a later time like every day only feed him once if you already do that then i would just wait and see and yes it is normal for them to sit at the bottem mine did it when i first got it after that it just hanged out everywhere i would get something for them to hide behind if he is new if hes not i would not think you would have to do anyhting but if so i would buy something like a fake plant etc

I hand-feed my frogs (four of them). Sometimes they lean against the glass and appear to be staring at me. Then, I think they're telling me things. I have to go now. They're calling me ... brrrruuup, brrrruuup, brrrruuup.

I have an african dwarf frog, most of the time he hids underneath the fake plants. At other times he swims up and down the glass, and sits with his legs sprawled out on the plant. Very fun to watch most ot the time
