Spirulina should be the first ingredient in the ingredient list. i wouldn't worry about what brand it is or the name of the food. as long as you come home with a food that was spriulina listed as the first ingredient.

Cool thanks, Matt! I think i will just feed them that then.
I went to two lfs today and they didnt have any spriulina flake. I might be going to another big lfs in friday and im sure they will have some so if i go then i will get some spriulina anyway.

That's perfect. I'll be out of town all weekend, so that gives you lots of time to put up plenty of pics of your new fish. ;)

What's happening with the ones currently in the tank? You probably said already, but I must have missed it.

LOL BV, there will be plenty of pics when you get home!
Im gonna put them all in my 10g (very temp) sell some of the platies and give away the two 2 red-eyed tetras, the rosy barb and the bleeding heart tetra
So in the 10 i will have about 2 platies, 1 female ram, 2 cories and a few gups. I know it will be overcrowded but i will keep up on the waterchanges and pray that they dont all reproduce alot!

Maybe fish and fish derivatives is the same as spirulina pacifica? im not sure why it is different over here...surely they dont change the ingredients for a different country!?. Anyways im sure if you and sinister are feeding the exact same food then the mine should be fine for my saulosi.
It is very weird tho....

EDIT: now that i think back to today when i was looking at the fish food nearly every single can of food had fish and fish derivatives listed as the first ingredient. Im thinking they change the name for some unknown reason

OK, today i got ANOTHER can of fish food. This time it looks good from the ingredients. Its a spirulina fish food specially for herbivors and mbuna.

Heres the ingredients:
Spirulina platensis algae, yeats, vegetable meals, soya proteins, grain products, fish and fish protein concentrate, molluscs and crustaceans, plankton, vegetable oils and fats, glucose, lecithin, L-lysine mono-hydrochloride, a special selection of vitamins, minerals salts, and trace elements.

So is this food better than the last? more suitable?

Sounds a lot more like what SK was describing. Glad you didn't have to cross the Atlantic just to find something more suitable for your little guys to chow down on! :D

here it is:

at the shop there was 2 different types of this food in exactly the same can, the only difference was where it says 'super forte' it was in the center of the can like :
super
forte

I accidentally picked up the wrong one and only noticed when i got in the car and was looking at the ingredients and the first ingredient was : fish and fish deritives!!!!! AHHH so i had to go and change it
