ahh hey thats a better idea..thanks! Whats Seachem Renew? Why not just put the activated carbon back in?

so youre saying you could also take the old filter floss and put it into a new blue cartridge with the new carbon? so what you would have is like a double layer floss with carbon underneath it all?

Seachem's Renew is a carbon-like water polisher...but doesn't suck out so many trace minerals, so its a little better for a planted tank.

more like: "new floss-carbon-old floss" if that makes sense...

thanks for the info on Seachems Renew..will check it out. How much does a small jar cost anyways?

um..new floss-carbon-old floss...? Isnt the carbon underneath the new floss in the cartridge? So if I peel back the new floss..I should insert the old floss pad UNDERNEATH the carbon chips? so you get a "sandwich" with carbon filling? :)

gonna try it when i get home today..
