Ok....Yesterday, I had a mission to go to walmart and buy some stained glass pant for a my lunar lighting project.... no more cardboard and cellophane, i bought plexiglass and paint..

ANYWAY

I stopped by the fish section to see what they had...being curious...

they still had green spotted puffers. living in fresh water.

their little bellies were black, and they were not happy.

after getting into a 'heated discussion' (argument) on the treatment of their fish, they gave me all three green spotted puffers for half price.

So now....they are in a rubbermaid container with a filter, heater and some plants in there...slowly slowly slowly getting accilimated (sp:?) to brackish water. My LFS said that they will take them once I get them switched to a fully brackish system. which could take a while.... BUT, three lives were saved!

Will do.

Here's the first update. :)

Wal mart was feeding them a strict diet of freeze dried bloodworms. :(

Today, they had their first meal of snails and ghost shrimp. They are doing much better, bellies are whitening up, and i changed out a bit of their water and replaced it with salted water.

I'm so proud of you.. in a weird way, seeing as i don't know you :) LOL
I wish i had a mate who was interested in fishkeeping, i'd be so much more confident standing up against those so-called 'fish loving' people, grrr - it really makes me angry! lol
Well done on saving the little fellas!! I wish you all the luck on your new additions. I think puffas are beautiful! :) When i get a bigger thank, i'd love to get a few.. i'll probably get a 40-50GAL soon.

yeah i love that graphic too -- where'd you find that, f8fan?

i can't wait to see some pics, jenn. i'm glad to hear you're giving them a home instead of just giving them to your lfs (whihc would have still been cool of you considering the shape they had been in..!) how'd you get your hands on a cycled tank?! that's awesome! you'll have to give us its stats.

Well, 1 puffer didn't make it today. he turned completley black and died.

the other 2 are doing ok. 1 is a little dark, 1 looks healthy.

you can see that their little beaks are growing too much....gotta go to the store and get snails tomorrow.

i am going to go take pictures now, and will beback to post them.
