Jen - how are these guys doing? Are they adjusting to the addition of salt, what's your salinity at now? Have they taken to eating the shrimp?
Don't leave me hanging, woman!!! You know I love puffers!
And reading new posts in the brackish section makes me giddy - we need more brackish peeps here! LOL
:D

they've been adjusting to salinity okay.

it's at 1.002-1.003 right now....i've been taking it REEEEEEEALLY slow.....

All of the shrimp in the tank are missing, so that's a good sign....they're a bit more enthusiastic come meal time, but their bellies are still dark. Not as dark as they were when I first brought them home...but dark.

I'll get some new pictures to put up here.

:)

I like brackish posts too...it makes me happy. I may be teaching my little brother how to keep a brackish tank soon. he really likes the puffers (mainly for the whole 'killing their food' idea...but hey...I talked him out of wanting a piranah for a teeeny tank... i told him puffers killed more. mwa ha ha haaa...) O< <--puffer

hi mom.

they're doing good.

they'll be ready to go to the fish store within a few weeks. :)

They're eating a lot more enthusiastically now. which, is good.
Is cinlnk your Mom, Jenn? Coooooool. Wish I could get my mom to post in a fish forum (or even be intertested in my fish other than that I have "too many tanks" in her opinion....) ;)

Now, she's got 3 or 4 of them running now.....and she may be getting another one from me.... mwaa haa haa haaaa.

Yup Jenn is my offspring..... She is also responsible for my growing interest in cichlids..... I am currently doing some research in setting up a 55 g african tank....
BTW ... you should see Hooty..{lil pig green spotted puffer} He is as happy as a clam with his "new food" ie: unwanted platy fry. He is still stalking a "giant ghost shrimp" also. I think it's too big for him to eat.

Sounds like you have been doing a great job caring for the puffs. You had mentioned that their beaks still appeared to be too large. Try putting a lava rock, or sand stone in the tank. My dwarf puffs would gnaw on the rocks since snails and the tiny snails that they could eat couldn't really wear their teeth appropriatly. GL with the puffs.
