I've heard that too, and I've done it before, when I was still at my mom's, we don't have a dishwasher though unfortunately.

Do you think they would be able to bother the flower shrimp?

Yeah, I did some searches and read alot that loaches will kill any snail and size has no part in it. Do you think if I got larger snails and kept them fed with snails that I breed and foods of all sorts that they would stand a chance?

The flower shrimp/bamboo shrimp are filter feeders. It's difficult to ensure they get enough food. You can supplement food for them by adding the algae mix that is used to feed brine shrimp. i forget the name of it, but it is a fine powder that comes in a little tube.

They may still get picked on by other fish but are normally too big to get eaten.

I had some tiny clown loaches (1.5") and a largish mystery snail once. The loaches picked off its eye stalks and feelers, and it died. There were plenty of other small snails in the tank for them. It was really an experiment to see if it would work, and it worked out for the loaches, but not the snail.

LOL thanks for the info, I guess I will try the cherry shrimp and only put in snails that I don't have any intention of keeping LOL. Good way to strip some nice shells to use for any future land hermits I want I guess! LOL
