I read in my fish book that Whiteclouds temp range is 68-90F. So far the whiteclouds are doing good. I cant see any stress but I guess that doesnt mean they dont have any.

Kitten- You know what's fun? Giving him something he has a hard time killing and then watching. Very amusing to see an oscar struggle to get food. They will eat anything you throw in there.

I noticed...he's such a pig! He stalks the rainbows and sometimes he tries to eat them, they're just too fast for the fat b@stard...I love that fish! He's so fun :)

Hi Here in Monterrey Mexico, in the summer the tempearatures get over 40 C and the temperatures inside my tanks get over 30 C, at this moment i have only 2 tanks with fishes, one of 35 G with an oscar and a convict, a clown loach (who is acting weird) and a pleco, the other (20G) i have platies and guppies and a whether loach....

Does the water temperature that high could be dangerous? should i put some carrots and potatoes and make a good soup at this temperature?

when i am at home, and i notice that, i put some ice on the power filters and lower the temp to 30C or 29C degrees, but at the afternoon when the temperature gets too hot i am not at home, what can i do?

does some fishes that i have are more sensitive to temperature?

The water chemistry is normal for both of the tanks...

Please note!! Hot temperatures can be tolerated shortly by tropical fish. However, they eat more and produce more waste thus more ammonia. Very important to monitor ammonia levels and do more water changes. Ammonia is much more toxic at higher temperatures.

O2 also does not disolve as easily the higher the temp. Keep that Oscar tank aerated. The more they poop, the more the decaying whatever is in the tank..it also will use O2. So keep that 35 g clean, leave the light off during the day.
