I agree with missfishy.. I got my tank cycled and added 5 fish at once and the ammonia and nitrites went back up. only for 2 days.. so I had to do another water change. Now I only feed my fish once every other day to help cut back on the huge amount of waste being produced, and I have 2 rena xp3 filters running on my 29gal at this time (those filters are staying on. only there to help get the nitirfying bacteria growing inside for my 75gal in a few weeks). the amount of filtration I have is rated at 350gph each. so it is easier for me to have the tank slightly overstocked. since those ammonia and nitrite spike afterwards.. the water has been fine. I wouldn't add any other fish until it is done cycling. They might live through this.. but their immune system will probably pay the price and their life span will be shortened.
