+1 Jeremy

Good advice!! I don't know where to find garlic juice without vinegar or oil. Anyway, my Betta loves the Hikari Micro Wafer Pellets that I have. She went crazy for them today. She likes it when they sink. She stalks them and eats them. I have to get a video of her. It's hilarious!! She's already a little bit bigger then my biggest female Platy (2 in.). When I got her, she was half the size she is now. She grew that fast within 3 weeks!! And Jeremy!! I HAVE to see a picture of your Tiger Platies!!
Only one of the two boys has much tiger striping, and they're about 2/3 the size of the females. I'm hoping I can somehow bypass the recessiveness of the tiger gene with the sunbursts due to the midsection coloring, but I'm taking a complete stab with the red wags. The pics will come. I've just been crazy busy lately.

lol, thanks. My Tiger Platies have really thick black stripes that are very noticeable. I found that I got more Tiger Platy fry with my 2 Mickey Mouses being the parents. I wonder why. I want to keep the genes going though, since they are recessive. So what can I do to keep them without weakening my fish or causing deformities due to inbreeding??

Some inbreeding is okay - it's called linebreeding when professionals do it.

Just make sure that you pay close attention to your fish. If you notice one has some sort of slight issue or is less active, don't breed it to another fish with the same problem.

As long as you occasionally bring in new blood from your LFS, you should do fine :)

Yes, but my lfs doesn't carry any Tiger Platies, except for the ones I'm giving them. And idk where to get some. It can't be online, cuz I'm not allowed to get a PayPal account even though it'll be with my own money.

So I've had this guy for about 3 weeks, and he's doing great. No signs of disease or anything, and all of his fins have grown in great, except for the middle section of his tail. Is there such thing as fish growing scar tissue on fins? The section that won't grow back isn't ragged or anything, it just isn't coming back. Suggestions?

it might be too damaged to grow back, sometimes that will happen if the fin is spilt alll the way.

I'm pretty bad with genetics, but I don't think it would be the tiger gene if you could bypass it, it would probs be some other marking... but goodluck!
