ok thanks luvfishes, and the others for the replies. So what do you mean by if nitrite level gets "stuck" as in if it stays at the same level?

ok, so I kinda want to speed up my cycle, and I know that if raise the heat (to about mid 80's) and put an old filter in a established tank it will speed up the cycle. But I was thinking about putting a water conditioner like "cycle". Would this speed up my bio-culture like in half? because i'm kinda expecting my tank will cycle in about 4-5 weeks w just a regular fishless cycle, btw its a 90 gallon, so what's your opinion on this product and biologically cycling your tank this way? downsides and upsides? Ok thanks much again.

and, after the cycle is finish, what are the other measures I should do? (other then beginning the fun of adding fishes)...AspGuru said 75% water change, is that right? sorry AspGuru not undermining your fishly wisdom, just to be sure. thanks again.

Aspguru is right on with the large waterchange after the ammonia and nitrites hit 0. There will be a large build up of nitrates at the end of a fishless cycle.

As for the so-called "bacteria in a bottle" don't waste your money. The bacteria we want "breathe" air, and they don't get that in a bottle so therefore die. There was a test done on another board...Cycle is full of ammonia (food for the bacteria? the dead bacteria rotting?), and nitrates.
