I think my glolights, my dwarf gourami, and my platys have it. I lost three fish all in one day. My shark, a platy, and a ghost shrimp!!! I think I way overfed. I don't ever know how much to feed them. That whole how much they eat in 5 minutes thing just doesn't work for me. Don't ask my params, I never check. I do water changes at least once a week and gravel vac at least every other. I will normally vacuum the tops of the gravel when I do just a weekly water change. My water was super cloudy yesterday morning whenI woke up after being completely clear the night before. Could I have overfed them that night that much?

Ok, I would only feed once a day thats all they really need i have even heard once every two days is ok.

But if they do have ich or ick (same thing) there skin will look like they have grains of salt or a fine sand on them.

this is a pic of ick

Yeah I got it. I went to Wal-mart and got some Jungle Ick Tabs. I have my filter out in a bucket of dechlored water and I ahve dropped them down in there. In the 35 minutes I was gone when I came back I had already lost another Platy! I will do this hopefully all will be a little better tomorrow. I will do a water change first thing in the morning and chances are I will have to redose. I am not going to feed them tonight. I hope my tetras and shrimp can make it through this. I am mainly concerned for my ABF and Gouramis. I should have known something was wrong by the way Henry was acting yesterday but I didn't suspect anything.

Btw, I love the green cast this medication gives my tank, any way I can get that without having to medicate?

Actually it is more of a blue, so pretty.
LOL, that blue may stain gravel, sealers and accessories.

Ok sence you do have itis the filter still running i would just take the carbon out as you really only need carbon for taking meds out of the water.

Most ick meds kill or do damage to plants, and are very poisonous
to scaleless fish.

You might want to read the back of the box and put any
sick fish in a 5 gallon bucket so u dont do long term damage to plants or
scaleless fish.

So basically the 5 gallon bucket is a quarantine tank or you
could just go buy a 5 gallon tank as a quarantine.

 wEll, I think I have MAJOR problems. One of my Bluue Gouramis is now attacking one of my Glolight Tetras. It has already taken out one of its eyes and I think it is now working on the other. What is happening they have never bothered one another before. None of them. What is happening to my tank?!!! I haven't done anything differently. Also, Henry, my Dwarf Gourami, the other day I noticed his string thing was bent and now today it is completely broken(bitten) off. What are those and is this having any kind of effect on him? WHAT IS HAPPENING?!!!!!!!

Oh, I have already dropped them in my tank. I didn't have any important plants in there anyway. I left the tetras in there despite the warning because they have it too. I figure they will die from the ich eventually so I might as well try to treat them.

That sucks about the staining.

hmmmm....

to get rid of ich, raise your tank temp to 85 degrees, and add 1 tbs of Aquarium salt per gallon of water, at the rate of 1 tbs per 12 hours

treat for three days after the white spots disappear....

keep the tank light off too...

oh---the fizzy tabs...will stain all of the silicone/plastic in your tank.....

Ok, well I have flushed all 3 of my Glolights since my last post. :( I don't know what is going on with my Blue Gouramis but they have just become little meanies since all of this has started. Does this medication or the disease effect their little brains? They are attacking all of my fish. They have been trying to kill my remaining Platy and Henry, they have even been snipping at each other. They look at my ABF but they still don't mess with her. What is going on with them? Will it hurt Henry to not have his other "whisker"?

I hope they make it through the night. I am so scared at what I will find in the morning. Btw, what does the light do? Does that just reduce stress if it is off? Will my Platy and Henry and my black skirts be able to see the Blues coming in the dark? I am so worried.

Well I think it has stabilized. I lost my last Platy and one of my black skirts overnight. I haven't seen my other three shrimp in days so I am gonna assume htey are dead and buried under the gravel or they were eaten. Either way I am saying I don't have any shrimp anymore. I still need to know if it is going to hurt my dwarf gourami to not have one of his whisker things. Yeah, I think the Gouramis were sensing the weakness but man did they put a hurtin on my glolights. They picked out all three of ems eyes. Well needless to say this has been a troubling experience. I don't think I will feed them today either. Do you think that is ok? I will do a 50% w/c today and remedicate. The box says just a 25% but I have had so many deaths in the tank that I am afraid there are some built up gasses. Quick question here, this morning my last Platy was dead. She had died overnight and she had this REALLY long string looking thing coming out of her. Was that just the last of what was in her intestines and it just flushed out or does she have some kind of worm thing? It was really white and long and gross!!! Henry has it too but it doesn't look like the Platy's. His just looks like white poop. Can they have white poop?

dont know about the poop thing. I would feed every day just 1 time or every other day just 1 time a day though

You might want to feed your fish some garlic for a few days. To help with internal parasites. garlic is either for internal parasites or bacteria. But it dont hurt the fish. Well atleast that what I heard

Did I misdiagnose?

I did a w/c tonight and I vacuumed the gravel while I was doing it and there was tons of all this gross fuzzy stuff getting sucked up!! What is it? It wasn't in there 4 days ago when I did a w/c. It is also starting to grow on my plants and things. Do I have a fungus instead? Also, I am getting ready to lose another black skirt. This sucks!!!!! :(

Well if the fish that have died that had grains of salt things looking on there skin its ick.

But because so many fish have died in the past few days. It may be do to so many fish dying it may have brought a fungus to the tank
