So, 36 TBSP (or 110 tsp) for my 55G tank would be the proper dose? No wonder it didn't work, I only have 4 TBSP in the tank, or 1/9th what I need

I am now going thru the Ich battle now. I just added Aquarium Salt to my 20g. This is the first dose of about 5 tablespoons (which is 15 teaspoons) (which is 2.5 ounces). The temperature is also being raised. At what rate should I be adding the salt?

The rate isn't that important. If you're concerned about it, just put your total dosage in a cup and pour a little into the tank every once in a while over the course of the day.

The couple times I've dosed salt, it's been on tanks with HOBs. I would just slowly pour the salt into the outflow of the HOB.

I didn't want to throw the water chemistry off and stress (kill) the fish with the sudden change.

I have an Emperor 280 that would dissolve the salt over time.

There appear to be less white spots on the clown loach now.
But that just means the parasite is now free swimming in the tank?
The salt treatment will now be able to destroy the invader.
Also, the treatment does not seem to be affecting the community.

Update 08/02/06: The ich appears to be nearly gone from the Loach. I will continue with the treatment until Monday just to be on the safe side.

Then I should begin water changes to reduce the Aquarium Salt from the water?

Keep up the treatments for 3 days after all the spots are gone. Then do a water change to start reducing the salt.
