Information on Fish Only Setups?

I used a pot when i had almost no live rock and one of my damsel was often hiding there. So i guess it's ok. But if algae begins to encrust the pot, it's hard to get it out 'cause the pot is porous.

I think this setup will struggle to satisfy your aesthetic demands. Despite your best efforts you will continually be fighting thin films of probably green and brown algae as you will have such an imbalanced setup, so unless you want to take out and bleach everything every week or so I'd rethink.
They had lots of setups like this in the 70's. They were hard work and most things died ater a few months. Alf Nillson called them 'Glass coffins' recently and i think he hit it right on. These sorts of tanks were killed by liverock based setups.
