Instant Homemade tank Cycle Solution

I am going to pee in a bucket let it sit in the outside for a few days to get some bacteria in there, then pour it in my tank, then my tank would be cycled right??

I don't think that the bacteria that you would expect to form in the bucket would be the same kind of good bacteria that is found in a cycled tank. I could be wrong tho. Never the less, wouldn't it be less yucky to just cycle with some zebras?

actually pee would work to cycle a tank...it is ammonia afterall but you would still need to build up your bacteria in the same way...they need a place to colonize that has current to carry oxygen and nutrients to them, in other words a filter

wouldnt be any faster than fishless cycling probably about the same

pure ammonia is cheap enough that you dont have use your own, unless for some sick reason you want to

actually, pee is urea, not ammonia. I am sure that the algae will like the urea more than the bacteria

Urine is made up of Carbon 11-17% Nitrogen 15-19% Calcium 4-6% Potassium 3-5% Phosphorus 2-5%

Urea outside the body quickly becomes ammonia

Once a week I whip out the old "Johnson" and throw it over the side of my aquarium for a little extra ammonia to build up my bio-load.
My fish don't mind.
