If i don't do anything will some of the babies live?
Some might. If you have good hiding places you might be able to keep some.

Oh and I forgot to mention I have a catfish too. He seems like an aggressive eater...I dont want all of the babies to get eaten!!
what kind of cat fish?

I wouldn't mind raising the babies....I can get another small tank for underneath mine...the stand has a spot...
and then I can give them away to friends/family and keep the ones I want...
I would get a breeder box from your LFS and just keep an eye on them. If she starts dropping, scoop her up and put her in the box. You will be able to save almost all of them.

I'm not sure what kind of catfish but he looks kind of like a shark. He swims around A LOT!

Starts dropping??
Will I be able to tell when she's almost due?
Between work and classes i'm not hom all that often, and I don't want to miss it!

Oh I'm already planning my next tank haha. I started off with one goldfish in a starter tank...then I got the mollies in the 20...I want to get a smaller tank for underneath...

And my boyfriend and I area planning on moving together next year and i've already told him we're getting a much bigger tank!

Not really. I just watched my tank a whole bunch when I first got them. They were my first fish, so it was the whole newbie thing. They will give birth either every 30 days or 60 days. So watch as much as you can. Say you find out they gave birth around the 5th of the month. She will probably have them the following month or two between the 2nd and the 7th. It is tough but if you pay attention to them, you will notice a change in their personality.

Sounds like a water problem to me. If your tank is cycling, all of your fish are probably suffering. I would do as many water changes as it takes to get the ammonia to 0.0 ppm. Ammonia poisoning also does permanent damage to fish by burning their gills, etc.

4 mollies and a catfish are plenty for a 20 gallon tank by the way, don't add anything else to it.
