I meant later. Hm, guess I must have read quick... I didn't see that you had listed them before (either place...). Maybe I ought to get my eyes checked :)

Blood shrimp are absolutely not territorial, and many peoples experience, including mine is that if you get a single one they simply disappear and don't come out.

Rainfords (Court Jester) , and the similar Hectors are prone to starving to death in small tanks, especially if they haven't been left to develop an adequate microfauna.

DSB = Deep Sand Bed, and pay or may not have a Plenum. Plenums, from the Jaubert school of filtration and not especially in fashion nowadays. DSB's are, depending on who you talk to.

Is that the case (the disappearing and not coming out with only one) with peppermint shrimp too? I got one a few days ago and he just hangs on the heater all day long... is he lonely?

So, given time, a single peppermint shrimp should decide that it's safe to come out on his own?
I have a single Cleaner Shrimp in my tank (the one in my Picture) and I have had him for 3yrs and he is alway out and about. In the begining he did hide alot until he got comfortable, even with his smaller buddy at the time (who ended up getting eaten by my Flame hawlk Fish I had)

Blood Shrimp- I agree that yes it is generally a very peacefull invert, but as many things stuck in a SMALL space, can become somewhat territorial and chase away others that infringe on it's space.

Rainfords (Court Jester)- guppyy_newbe said she was going to wait to add stuff so I assumed she realized that she needs to have a matured tank to be able to support this fish. It will eat frozen foods though as well so I think it would be fine as in the 12gl with the FireFish. Good info to point out though Wayne incase she was not aware!

I was planning on waiting at least a month before adding the fish and probably a week or so to start adding the other stuff. I knew that tank had to be established for them but I didnt know (yet) that they didnt eat prepared foods. Info on that would be great. I will do more research today. Thanks again.

And 1 month is not enough time to consider your tank as being "Matured" that takes months - year with lots of love and care to get to that level of stability! unless you are taking your stuff from an already older matured system then ya it will not take as long.

Yes I lost one. I thought one killed the other cause I know that its touchy putting more than one together. But it turned out that he got stuck in my powerhead (somehow) and we didnt know when we took it out of the tank to hook up the water current director. :(
