I had 2 Kuhli Loach's in a 20g a long time ago, a few days after getting them they were gone... couldnt find them anywhere, I figured they were attacked and eaten by something in the tank. Months later I was moving stuff around in my tank, lifted up a rock and there they were.... swam right out, once I put everything back again poof they were gone. In the entire time I had that tank setup I never really saw them except now and again at night.

I have to kuhlii loaches in a 30 gallon tank .... I see mine quite often. Mine are pretty active and I enjoy them very much. They do a pretty good job picking up the left overs at the bottom of my tank. They are really hardy too.... I have heard some crazy stories about them! Oh and I bought mine for $2.50.

Cool!! I wish I had snow here! All it is doing is raining!!I dont feel to bad though I will be going to Shames here at the end of the break!

I looked up your Kuhli Loach in my big fish book, and it states that it is "A peaceful and useful scavenger in the community aquarium." So yeah, go for it!!! I myself have three Kuhli Loaches (and have had them for quite a while) and I think they are just too cool!!! They are wonderful fish to have, and, if you ask me, far more interesting than any Ghost Shrimp. (and yes, I have seen and watched ghost shrimp before, so I would know)

SO DON'T GO BUYING ANY SHRIMP, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY'LL SURVIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes, speaking of Kuhli Loaches and snails...I have had several snails in with my Loaches, and they have never done them any harm. The only time my snails get killed is when I clean out my aquarium real good with hot water and I forget that they're there...ooops.

Okay--swallowing my pride--GULP!

Despite my recent remarks on ghost shrimp, I actually went and bought some myself (mainly because they were so cheap) and I now use them in my fry aquarium to clean up after the babies. (I heard that they can sometimes be evil to things smaller than themselves, but as of yet, mine wouldn't hurt a fry! pardon the stupid pun...) And I was "pleasantly" surprised that they do indeed do their job well, and yes, they are fun to watch. They seem pretty hardy as well, seeing as I actually had one jump from my net and onto the floor and it still survived nicely despite the fact that I practically had to "wrestle" it back into the tank (wiggly little thing)! It was also a REALLY teeny-weeny one, too.

SOOOOO...decide for yourself...BUT I STILL LIKE KUHLI LOACHES BETTER!!!!!!!

P.S. The saying "pride cometh before the fall" is so true...and I had to learn it the heard way!
