Got it! Had to damn near tank the whole tank apart. This two inch monster killed a maroon clown, a coral beauty angel, a cardinal, a flame angel, a fire goby, and a six line wrasse.

Nice work, FishDad! Watch out for others (I've more than once assumed there were 1 or 2 of a critter, only to find out there were more).

Thanks OC, luckily it seems that mantis shrimp tend to be solitary. But I am keeping my ears open for more clicking.

Newman I actually gave him to my LFS and they gave me another ocellaris in exchange.

That's not to far from reality. I think my wife and kids thought I had gone insane because I got the feeling that no one quite believed me that I had a mantis shrimp. My lfs was skeptical for sure.

I know what it mess it can create trying to retrieve a critter from my FW tanks.. I'd be PARANOID around live rock and other marine stuff. Ugh..

So far African cichlids have been the hardest to catch fish that I have come across. This mantis shrimp was close though.
