Yeah, Still considering, thinking the EBJD is definitly worth a try, and I really like the blue acuras, any suggestions for soemthing that works well with this (possible) plan?

1 Oscar
1 Common Pleco
1 Electric Blue JD
? Blue Acuras (4-6?)

And I am considering a couple firemouths, maybe 2-3, but I'm still trying to see if there is anything I am missing out there.

i have a pictus cat and a jack dempsy with my oscar, ohh and a pleco as well

i am always on the lookout for a decently sized green terror to add to my 120

the jack dempsy is a lot smaller than my oscar, anything that is larger(opps haha i said smaller at first) than the oscars mouth is a suitable tank mate for the oscar i have

Your done with stocking that tank. When stocking you have to consider the adult size and territorial needs of the fish.

With those 3 fish the bio-load on your tank is going to be at a maximum when they reach adulthood. Adding a green terror will not only over do it for your load limits, but will most definitely end up in blood shed in that tank. Green terrors have that name for a reason.

I know you didn't ask for an opinion, but when something like that is posted...something needs to be said.

with oscars its a crap shoot. When I had them in the past the were a bit aggresive until they reached a rather large size and than they seemed to get pushed around a little more by my other fish. Of course I only had a couple fish in the tank so they didnt have much in the way of distractions.

the oscar, pictus, and the pleco are all either full grown or dang near it, the jack is still what i consider a juvi

indeed i did not ask for your opinion, so i wont take your advice, i was taught not to take things from strangers :p :D

cons...uhhh, maybe not...

I had a couple of cons. And just from the deluge of posts on this forum as well as others, plus just the little experience with my two. They are right mean little gits!! They don't care what the other kind of cichlid is they want to badger it.

Mine never had fry (I separated them) but, as far as using the fry for a food supply...the adult cons would have to be separated or they will kill everything in the tank.

Now my JD is another story...big bad rep...not so bad behavior. He generally gets along with all. Every once in a while jabs at a passing fish but not even real contact, just "hey respect my space."

Although I have never had an Oscar...I have had much discussion over the cons. By the way nice looking Oscar, good luck with the new tank.

Ciao,

EBJD and OSCAR

I have a EBJD, its about 3" .... or so. And im getting an Oscar on thurs about the same size. So i will let you know how it goes if you havent made up your mind by then.
I love the EBJD such a good looking fish. And it doesnt seem to grow as fast as a regular JD. Which I think get kinda ugly later on as they lose color. Here is a pic of my EBJD.
