I guess you have a point there ohwell, atleast i can say that i tried ;D

leaf fish are from the amazon too, and take the lower pH and everything...just not compatible with discus or cardinals. the poor cardinals would be eaten in no time. if you were to keep leaf fish it'd have to be with something like severums or chocolate cichlids. something pretty large and not agressive. may be ok with ADULT discus, but no cardinals. id just stick with what you had in mind and leave the leaf fish out of the deal.
