coloration varies by individual

poison oak will not affect your fish (and yes it does suck) but i would keep my hands out of the tank until its healed because the alstwater might irritate it plus if you are using lotions (calamine, etc) to sooth the itching that could rinse off in the tank and be toxic

as far as a clean up crew goes, can you over do it? (to many snails or crabs, hermits) the more the better??? how does it work

well, if you get too many there will not be enough food = crabs killing each other and snails + starving stuff...best just to add a few, see if they can handle the load, and if not add a few more a few weeks later
