Thanks guys!
Straitjacket...you still have that female of yours? Gorgeous fish!

I've been toying with the idea of getting this guy a girlfriend, and now I've decided to go for it. Sadly I'm unable to find any more sals around here, so I'll have to wait a bit. There's a guy over on cichlid-forum who is currently raising some from his first batch. His young pair has a second batch on the go as well. He's not far from me, so I'll probably just wait until his are ready to be shipped and nab up 3 females.

Oh, and I agree about him looking kinda 'scary' in a way...

No, don't have my girl no more. Sadly she kicked the bucket a while ago. I thought I took it hard but her boyfriend, Speshull Ed - the Uro, he stopped eating for a good two months after she died, maybe more. At first I thought she might have died of a disease and whatever she had - Ed might have it as well considering they were both always together, but she never showed symptoms of illness and neither did any of the other fish in the tank. One day she just looked like she couldn't get any air and a few hours later she was gone. Everyone else was fine. I thought Ed would waste away, couldn't get him to eat a damn thing but he slowly came out of it. He's now a merry widower. I've got a new marriage in the making, growing out a fine little female for him but she'll be of the same species so I won't have any of that wacky intraspecies relationship thing goin on in my tank. lol

Pity too. I really wanted to keep that line of sals going. Both male and female were so good looking. :(
It'll be a while before I come across any that look that good again.
Make sure you hold out for some babes. That male deserves some really foxy ladies. :D

Well, I thought you might have lost her several months back, but I didn't wanna jump to any conclusions because I couldn't quite remember. Sorry for the loss. I remember her pictures...she was stunning! Best of luck with Ed and his future mate!

No luck finding sals yesterday...
Changed the tank lighting to a more natural (less bluish) spectrum using my 6,700K tubes.

No flash.

Flash.

Enjoy, and I'll get some more up once he's grown and I've gotten him a girlfriend.
