I've also heard people get aattached, then distressed when they die. They need perfect water quality so anticipate a few 1000 dollars od expenditure, plus a few practice deaths to boost the torture.
Not worth it.

Note in the link above oriongirl is VERY experienced, and her idea of straightforward fishkeeping will be different to most peoples

I can imagine the attachment, I just bought him a little pink stuffed animal octo from the "Finding Nemo" movie, maybe he can get attached to that instead ...
