So no rotation of bio wheel sound? Ill give it a few more days. Im always worried that the pleats are deformed or something since Iv handled it alot. IT said 24-48 hours and the manual describes a splashing noise with the water. This is not a splashing but more of a just rotation lap noise.

well besides what I told u thus far I don't know. I would give it a few more days and the next time u go to the pet store ask them if it is abnormal. I never handled the bio wheel except to put it in the first time, and when I clean the filter. but when I do grab it I grab the plastic and not the pleats.

Yea I grabbed the plastic ends, probably while holding both ends I squeezed a little. But, the marineland site says you can twist the wheel at both ends to reduce noise, so seems like its not all that fragile.

Been on the phone with marineland extensively these few days. Determined that the hood is indeed faulty and they will work something out with perfecto to get me a replacement.
The filter- hard part. It started being noisy today and upon their recommendations I took it out and cleaned impeller and impeller well. Got a few strands of short dust particles out and put it back in. Much quieter. Bio-wheel lap rotation signifigantly reduced. Still seems louder than what they are telling me it should be but i can live with it. They are offering to send me a replacement impeller though, if it doesnt seem quiet enough after the new hood comes I'll replace the impeller i guess.
The cartridge-they told their redisgning it. They do have that issue with only the 150B model, just a loose fit.
