I don't even bother taking offense. I doubt he understands what his name means, he's just trying to draw attention. I suppose it's possible that he understands his name and he's trying to make a theological point...

Thanks Arcab! Im christian myself and did find the name offensive. I appreciate it.

Anyways, back to fish. I realize that CO2 effects pH but how much CO2 is in tap water to begin with? I dont have a CO2 test kit so I havent tested it but did anyone else do a test on the tap water?

Another question is does ammonia really change pH? I have not heard of it before (I took physics). However, I do know that it will not effect it much because just having the tap water sit in a pail, the pH will go up and I know there is no NH in it.

All this talk about Christ is making me sick. Yeah, you people only know how to condemn us but whenever we retaliate you say we are disrespectful to other religions. I didn't even say anything about Christ and you're complaining about a harmless nick. Go to hell you suckers, and if you don't even know that ammonia is an alkali I suggest you quit fishkeeping you as.sholes.

Irrespective of how much a person knows they have a right to use the board without being ridiculed or criticised.
He was asking a question and has a right to do so.
One of the main things I enjoy about the site is being able to ask a question (however silly or obvious it may seem) in the knowledge that people will respond without being patronising or making you feel small.

I dont mind if people critize or make fun of me. I usually associate it with immaturity and/or low self-esteem. I dont think anyone did any condemning. And the issue about ammonia, one doesnt know everything about fish/water chemistry especially since I only have been keeping fish for about a year now. Thanks for the encouragement, anti. Next thing will be some noticing spelling/grammar.

Just one thing to say here. I havn't been here for  a while but I just want to say that the name didn't really offend me it was the way you just came here and start criticizing people it's not nice. And you probably arn't a real nice person, either am I when it comes to stuff like this, but you just don't do that. And thanks for changing your name. :) :D
