Raw for "meat eaters" is as good as it gets. Mother nature doesn't fire up the deep fry when she feeds them.

Lotus part of the recipe demands that the shrimp be fresh.. This recipe isn't meant for the common kid to try and feed his plec rancid meat, it is a food for the devoted hobbyist who would not feed spoiled food. And is to be divided up and frozen in single serve portions, and it's a 10th of the cost of frozen brine. Lots of "meat eater" plec owners use it.

Sorry PC I've been slacking. I'll dig through my files and find it for you. It's very basic and simple.

Bala i would only use meaty foods for a common as a treat.

You're right, as usual, Pure. :)

I have a personal phobia/sensitivity to raw shrimp that isn't fresh. I refuse to eat it unless it's caught the same day. It's one of those foods that spoils so quickly, that I never buy it here (2 hours from the ocean).

My poor plecos would never get a chance with my loaches around, I fear. :p

Understandable fobia....food poisoning is no joke, and would certainly be very bad for our fish.

Thank you for reminding me to bring this point up..It has to be fresh!

LOL yeah your loaches would go nutso over it, my discus love it too!!!!
