LOL Pure, I have other tanks too, let me know when teeter pops! LOL

Everything I am seeing about the L114 is saying 10" so I'm assuming I can have another pleco with him in a 220gal-ish tank right?

Or maybe not? PCF says "Generally peaceful but territorial from a young age. Some large specimens are aggressively territorial and may cause problems if housed with other large nocturnal fish." Would the size of the tank have much say in this?

Yes it does. In a tank that size you can very easily keep 2 large species. I still wouldn't go over that. Even though the tank is 220 gals it would still be only 6 ft long. The extra width of the tank isn't going to add much as far as territory for large plecs.

Yeah, Exotic Finds has played a big role in my search LOL. I thought about the Mangos, but I think I would have to see one in person the pics on PCF and such aren't relly making me like them that well. Just to plain.

That L114 on the other hand... I have yet to see a pic that hasn't made me want one. If I were to get one L114, would it be best to get another of the same, or could I mix it up a bit?

OK, I was just trying to cover all my basis, tis as I figured. Any suggestions if I go with one L114? Somthing that will contrast nicely? What is the smallest I could go and still be safe? Shoulden't have any restriction on how large I can go right? I really liked the coffee and cream pleco, but I hear they're nasty little buggers.

I don't know about the L160, never read any negative things about them. Never really read anything about them. PCF says they can be boogers so....

I do know people who keep multiple 114s together and they don't seem to have a problem as long as there is enough room, and you will have plenty of that.

As far as size goes, like I said they are slow growers so the biggest you can find is going to be best. Better to pay a lil more for a large one vs letting the Oscar have a 50 dollar meal.

LOL Definitly, if I get them small (which I will try to avoid), they will be seperated untillI feel comfortable adding them.

I think I have it consolidated some, I know I want one L-114, possibly 2, but I would really rather have one of these and one of the following:

The L047 is starting to grow on me, I keep hearing how vivid they are, but I just can't see it in pics. Has the contrast I am looking for.

The albino L083 is still a good option, I really like them and the incredible size just makes them more appealing. The albinos make a good contrast, the normals would be too much leopard spots for one tank.

Or the L018/L085 because I like them and they get BIG! :) Good contrast too I guess.

What can you tell me about the L024? I can't find much info on them. If they are a good match, that's one other option.

Again I don't know many who own a L025. PCF says they are territorial (but it also says that about most large plecs). Aqualog says they are peaceful. Sometimes you have to read between the lines. I would take this one to mean that they are peaceful but territorial to like sized plecos, again tank size is probably going to play a huge role in that.

Very few plecs are big nasties that won't allow another plec in such a large tank. Provided there are lots of hide outs and decor like large pieces of drift wood to help break up territories. Yes just as with any other fish you do run that risk when Keeping multiple species. Tis just the name of the game.
