Question about scrach in a tank

Alright i found this tank on Ebay i think it's a 105g at less that's what i came up with but um there is a picture of this scratch would it lead to a leak?
and if it would leak what could i do to fix it replace it or glue it really good?

EDIT just thought of this pending on where this scrach is could i cut it out and put a overflow there or would that not work?

It looks Really deep. It also looks to have Glass dust around it. I would pass. If you wanted you Could Silicone a Patch across the whole bottom, of the tank.

yea thx if it stays under 50 bucks i'll probbly buy it and see what happens OUTSIDE before i would bring it in but other wize i guess i'll pass why did he have to move it

E-mail him to see of you can stop by and look at it. If he really dosnt want it he will let you. I have done that with tank on e-bay before. I didnt like them as much as some one else (I lost the bidding)but most people are willing to show you.

In that tank size the bottom should be tempered. As bad as it is I am surprised that is didnt shatter.

The way it has the extra pipes in the back detures me. I also has that branch that looks attached to the bottom of the tank. I personally would pass on them both.

the second is a good price if the tank and stand are good, but look at the plumbing carefully

the first i would pass on...deep scratches are scary, especially on the bottom

and the 95 is a good deal if the tank and sand are good meaning not messed up?
and i seen that the 95 comes with a wet dry filter but the picture doesn't show it hooked up to those pipes but i was think it might be for the return what do you guys think?

and the 95 is a good deal if the tank and sand are good meaning not messed up?
and i seen that the 95 comes with a wet dry filter but the picture doesn't show it hooked up to those pipes but i was think it might be for the return what do you guys think?

The pipes that go through the glass are the return-to-tank pipes and the box hanging on the back is where the water flows to the sump. The box is an overflow box that works by equilibrium of water on each side...they are a great alternative to having the tank drilled for a in-tank overflow box with bulkhead.

IF you decide to go with the second tank, the first thing you would want to do (if used for salttank) is get rid of the bioballs. Yes they are beneficial for breaking things down into nitrates but then you will be stuck with lots of water changes or set-up the sump with macro algea for nutrient export.

Oh yeah.... you will also need a return pump that will flow roughly 10 times the volume of the tank in one hour...$$$

yea i figured thats what those pipes were for since i didn't see anything else with a tube and i was thinking of taking the media out and puting sand and some algae stuff with a piece or two of LR maybe and i already was looking at water pumps

yeah... you could put an eel in there. and i dont think you need a pump that pumps 10 times the water volume...

you need one with a few feet of head.... i would look on the DRs site and try to find one with about 5-6 feet of head.
