Does anyone here have experience with the rainbow/lifegard setups?  I am getting a new 75 gallon and am going to use there modules.  I was just curious if anyone had anything good or bad to say about these filters.  And "YES" I know how much they cost!  Thanks!

*thumbsup2*I have a 75 gal bow front for my turtle viquarium, it only has about ~20 gal of water and turtles are VERY, VERY dirty.  My set-up uses 2 pumps, an "Ocean-Clear" mechanical/biological unit (backflushable bead media unit built for ponds and BIG tanks) and a rainbow "2" chemical unit.  The quality is great and it holds about a quart of media easily. So, no more stinky turtle tank.  If I had the $ I'd get the whole system for my planted aquarium.

What kind of filter is this?  I have heard of it but rarely anybody mentions it.  Is it expensive and why would you need it in a planted tank when the plants pretty much take up all of the nutrients?
