sand in the tank?

I belive that the 'eco-complete' cichlid sand/gravel claims to have live bacteria in the bag, thats why its wet in the bag.

ypu will love the sand. i used sand that was used to fill in our koi pond. it looks like a river almost. i also found it alot easier to clean the tank.

well the fish at the LFS are in a tank with this sand and the pH is 8.2... mine is at 8.0 now and just about ready for all my fish... sand at the hardware store was 2.68 for 50 lbs... and $1 a pound almost for the sand from the pet store...

I think sand from a freshwater source is alright...

But wouldnt beach sand contain lots of salt??
